Another close up of the shelves and ceramics I made in Japan. I will forever be grateful for my time in a Japan. I have never met a whole country that is so dedicated to doing everything to their best. I love the attention to detail in everyday life and the pride that is shown in all their work. So much inspiration came from the way two worlds interact here. There is deep respect for nature and so much technology. These mugs were made in Japan. With my cone 1 work I was using incised lines to add elements of surface decoration and I carried it onto these cone 6 mugs. I like the way the iron burns through the glaze here creating a distinct line that otherwise could barely be seen.
